India possesses a vast youth population; however, there remains a significant imbalance between skills and opportunities. Even after completing their education, a large number of young people continue to wait for employment because they are prepared to seek jobs rather than create enterprises. As a result, dependence on external sources increases and the pace of local economic development remains limited. The objective of the Udyamikul Prakalp is to develop a self-reliant livelihood ecosystem by connecting skills with production and production with enterprise.
Udyamikul is a Skill-to-Enterprise Framework in which the ultimate goal of training is not merely certification but income generation. The educational process will be structured according to actual market needs, local resources, and the capabilities of individuals, enabling trainees to directly initiate employment or establish their own enterprises.
The first dimension of this framework is Skill Development Training. Practical skills based on local requirements such as service-oriented work, production activities, digital services, and traditional crafts will be imparted through structured modules. The training model will be practice-oriented, allowing participants to learn while simultaneously engaging in productive work.
The second dimension is Micro-Enterprise Development. Trainees will receive practical guidance in business selection, cost estimation, pricing strategies, marketing, and customer management. The objective is not merely to teach a skill but to transform that skill into a sustainable source of income.
The third dimension is Local Economic Integration. Production groups, self-help units, and cluster-based industries will be developed at village and urban levels. This will ensure that production remains local, employment opportunities are generated locally, and economic circulation continues within the community itself.
The fourth dimension is Digital and Market Connectivity. Products and services will be linked with digital platforms, local networks, and direct customer systems, enabling small entrepreneurs to access broader markets. Digital literacy and financial management training will form an essential component of this process.
Under the project, practical programmes will be conducted, including a 45-day Entrepreneurship Training Programme, “Learn and Earn” production modules, preliminary enterprise consultancy, and the establishment of group-based startups. The aim is not merely to connect training with employment but to connect training directly with income generation.
As a result of this integrated framework, youth will transform from job seekers into job creators. Economic activities at the local level will expand, leading to sustainable progress towards a self-reliant society.
